A Word from the President

As President of the Local Development Centre, it is my pleasure to introduce our organisation, which has been active for the past five years in the development of our regional community’s economy and social economy in the Gatineau Valley MRC territory. I am proud of our partnership with the Gatineau Valley MRC and municipalities and other socio-economic actors in this project for the development of the territory and its community.

As you will see when visiting our site, the main sectors of the territory’s economic activities are: forest harvesting and forest products processing, agriculture, tourism, culture and heritage.

The Gatineau Valley territory has more than 3200 lakes, dozens of rivers for boating, canoeing and white water activities, wildlife areas such as the Bras-Coupé-Désert and Pontiac ZECs (controlled harvesting zones), the Eagle Forest and the La Vérendrye Wildlife Preserve, not to mention some sixty outfitters, a number of regional parks and a Linear Park, and important networks of quad and snowmobile trails, interpretation centres and theme routes.

These features make our territory a place where you can enjoy the quality of life and environment, and help fostering the Gatineau Valley’s socio-economic development.

I invite you to surf on the Gatineau Valley LDC and MRC Web sites and discover all the services offered by a professional and dynamic team as well as the different economic sectors of our region.

Finally, for more information, I invite you to contact the LDC personnel any time.

Welcome to the Gatineau Valley! Come and discover a place of opportunities.
